THE REEL DEAL
Getting Your Indie Film Financed, Produced & Distributed
Without Getting Ripped Off!

2-Day Workshop

Overview

An intensive two-day workshop covering the major business and legal aspects of the independent film business, from development through post-production, as well as financing, distribution and post-distribution remedies. Come learn from veteran entertainment attorney, Jeffrey Brandstetter, about the myriad agreements, deal memos and tricks of the trade necessary to get your film financed, shot, in the can, and distributed (and avoid getting ripped off in the process).

Learn how to:

  • Protect your ideas while pitching them to others and assembling your team.
  • Finance your film.
  • Limit your liability and that of your investors.
  • Option scripts, literary works and story rights.
  • Create winning pitch materials, including the documents investors want to see (and the SEC requires).
  • Negotiate and understand the contracts and deal memos necessary to hire your above- and below-the-line personnel, including writers, directors, actors, line producers, and other cast and crew.
  • Obtain proper clearances to perfect your film's "chain of title."
  • Maximize your chances of being picked up for distribution.
  • Pursue your rights and remedies in the event of infringement or breach of contract.
  • And much, much more!

This jam-packed workshop will not only teach you what to look for in many of the major agreements you'll encounter over the course of production and distribution, but could save you many thousands of dollars (and heartache) as well. Not to be missed!
