Formed in 2010 between the American Cultures (AC) Center and the Cal Corps Public Service Center, the American Cultures Engaged Scholarship (ACES) program has supported the development of nearly two dozen community partnerships with American Cultures courses. This inaugural symposium will draw on the experiences of faculty, student and community partners who created the first ACES courses.
With an opening morning keynote by UC Santa Barbara Professor George Lipsitz, afternoon panels will highlight the opportunities and responsibilities of higher education and public scholarship.
