 Understanding the Health of Your Urban Forest

Why should we conduct urban forest assessments?  How do we conduct them?  Why is tree species diversity important?  Why are tree risk management plans important?  What did an urban forestry strike team learn after Hurricane Gustav? These topics and many more will be covered.  We’ll also hear about Milliken & Company’s Sustainability Program.

Take I-85 South.  Take exit 13 for GA 219.  Take right at fork.  Follow signs to LaGrange.  Merge onto GA-219 (1.6 mi.) Turn left at Lukken Industrial Drive.

From Columbus:

Take I-185 toward Atlanta.  Take exit 42 toward LaGrange.  Turn left at GA-1/Hamilton road/US-27 (5.9 mi.) Turn left at Lukken Industrial Drive.

From Macon:

Take I-75 N.  Take Exit 238B for I-285 Bypass.  Keep left at fork, follow signs for Montgomery/I-285 W, and Merge onto I-285 W.  Take exit 61 to merge onto I-85 S toward Montgomery (57.7 mi.)  Take exit 13 for GA-219.  Keep right at the fork, follow signs for LaGrange and merge onto Ga-219/Whitesville Road.  Turn left at Lukken Industrial Drive.
