You are invited to University of Louisville Health Care's Annual Research Day on Wednesday, May 16. This free event is open to all disciplines and is hosted by the Nursing and Interdisciplinary Research Committee.
The event will be held at the Clinical and Translational Research (CTR) Building,
505 South Hancock, which is across the street from the hospital.
Sign in begins at 7:30 a.m., and the event runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This year's keynote speaker is Sheila Hauck, DNP, RN, OCN, NEA-BC. Sheila is the Executive Director of Oncology, Palliative Care and Professional Practice at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, which is a Magnet hospital.
The following will be covered in the three-hour presentation:
I. Introduction to Quality, Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Sheila will discuss the differences between the three initiatives.
II. Assessing Our Environment for EBP, PI, Research.
III. Creating a Strategic Plan for Implementation of EBP. Sheila will review her organization's 3-5 year plan and discuss their failures and successes. This will also include competencies for EBP and Leadership Support.
