Increasing Productivity begins with Business Strategy:

The first in the series of 3 will show how business strategy defines the areas where productivity can be improved.  For example:

·        Automation might be appropriate if the business strategy is to mass produce very large quantities at the lowest cost.

·        Robotics might be appropriate if the business strategy is to produce a flexible range of products in large quantity at the lowest cost

·        Outsourcing might be appropriate if flexibility in product and capacity is more important than having the lowest possible cost.

·        ERP systems might be appropriate if there is a complex range of products, suppliers, or logistics involved.
