PYRAMID RELEASE (EMI) "HEAVY HITTER"
BRINGS SINGER/GUITARIST JEFF PITCHELL TO A WHOLE NEW BALLGAME!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Allen Jocobi" President Pyramid Records

"For years now singer/songwriter/guitarist Jeff "the Pitch" Pitchell has been delighting purists with his hard driving, no holds barred brand of thunder and lightning blues. Now, following in the footsteps of other popular blues artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray, Johnny Lang & Kenny Wayne Shepard, Pitchell has gone into the wind up to bring his musical message to a much wider audience.
Heavy Hitter, Pitchell's first release on the EMI distributed Pyramid label (due out in stores August 27th) is his most eclectic effort to date. He still plays homage to his roots, yet has embraced an evolution in his music that takes him far beyond the limits of mere mortal bluesmen. It also marks a turning point for Pyramid. Move over, here comes “the Pitch”
By: STEVE ZIMMERMAN. The News Herald

Pitchell learned about the blues from his junior high school teacher named John Sales, who was an award winning educator....

MUSIC SCENE: Bluesman Pitchell is climbing the Pyramid

Jeff Pitchell is your typical overnight success story. That is, if you consider paying your dues on the Northeast club circuit for 15 years to be overnight.

Actually, Pitchell’s story of steady work is a likely scenario for most musicians, and seeing his latest album, ‘‘Heavy Hitter’’ on the Pyramid label. Seated firmly in the No. 7 spot on Billboard’s top-selling blues CDs, is a source of satisfaction.
