For the second in our Chicago Forward series for 2012, the Chicago Tribune and
Com Ed present The State of the City and the State, a first-ever public conversation between Governor Patrick Quinn and Mayor Rahm Emanuel, moderated by Chicago Tribune editorial page editor Bruce Dold. The two leaders will discuss the financial challenges facing the city and state, their plans for economic development, and how they approach their respective roles.

Tickets are $15 and include a reception with food and drink.

Travel Information:

 

The Field Museum is located at 1400 S. Lake Shore Drive, in the heart of Chicago's Museum Campus.  From Lake Shore Drive, exit at 18th Street.  Follow Museum Campus Drive around Soldier Field.  Signs will indicate available visitor parking lots.

At times, Museum Campus is host to a variety of concerts, sporting events and other entertainment and special events, which can affect traffic and parking.

 

 

CTA

Getting Here by Bus:

#146 – Inner Drive/ Michigan Express / Museum Campus

#130 – Museum Campus ( mid-May through Labor Day )

For up to the minute arrival times, use the CTA’s Bus Tracker or by text messaging from your cellular phone (look for the code on the bus stop sign).  

Getting Here by Train:

Roosevelt Red Line Stop – servicing Red, Orange and Green Line and offers connections to #146.

Located at State St. and Roosevelt Rd.

Parking Hours and Rates

Museum Campus offers several parking options for its visitors.  Designated handicapped parking is available in every lot.

Soldier Field North Garage

The North Garage is open from 5am to 5pm daily, and is accessible via the main entrance on Museum Campus Drive. Parked cars can always leave after closing hours, but overnight parking is not allowed.

Daily parking rates are $19 for the first four (4) hours, or $22 for up to 12 hours. 

Other Parking

Additional lots are located adjacent to the Adler Planetarium, and the Waldron Garage on the south side of Soldier Field.

All Museum Campus parking is managed by Standard Parking and owned by the Chicago Park District.  For the most current parking information, please visit Soldier Field Parking. Rates and hours are subject to change without notice.  Rates are typically higher during sporting or other entertainment events.
