Using Social Media Effectively to Build Your “Brand”
Friday, February 24th
3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Everyone has a reputation and their own unique set of talents, strengths, and skills. In a sense, your personal brand is already there. A critical next step is to identify and showcase this unique combination so you can best position yourself for future opportunities – as a campus leader or a job/grad school candidate, for example. We’ll discuss a number of tools that can be used to share your story and showcase your skills & passions, including: blogging, video, and one of the newest platforms - Pinterest.
At the end of this workshop, you will have:
- A better sense of what your “brand” is
- A list of 3 actions that you will take in the next month to further develop and share your story
- Ideas on how to use social media as part of this personal development activity
This workshop will focus on reflecting on your “personal” brand and developing a short-range action plan. Some concepts are also applicable to group or departmental message development and communication strategies, but this will not be the main component of this session.
