“Happy Birthday, Mr. Mozart !” OAC An Opera Scene Program In celebration of Mozart’s 250th Birthday, the Opera Academy of California is presenting an exciting evening of Opera Scenes from the most beloved and popular Mozart operas - Don Giovanni, Così fan tutte and Le Nozze di Figaro – and from lesser known but very exciting operas - La Finta Giardiniera and Idomeneo. Directed by Yefim Maizel, a guest stage director for the New York Metropolitan Opera and conducted by Alex Katsman, the performance is a showcase for a talented team of 25 Bay Area singer-performers in a tribute to Mozart’s genius. Each scene is preceded with an insightful narration of the events and characters. Come and experience Mozart’s masterpieces alive and vibrant as they were meant to be!
