In 2010, Charlotteans representing over 100 organizations in Charlotte wrote a vision for Charlotte's future.  On November 1 of that year, Sustain Charlotte publicly announced this vision, which we entitled Charlotte 2030: A Sustainable Vision for Our Region.  It was well received by the community and widely covered in local media. 

 

Since that time, Sustain Charlotte has worked tirelessly to spread awareness of this vision, and highlight the efforts of individuals and organizations who are helping us achieve it through our monthly e-newsletter and daily updates via our social media channels.

 

 

During the event we will honor the top nominees with an award, and there will be one award for each of the ten areas of the Vision, plus two additional awards:  Outstanding Educator or Student Work and Overall Outstanding Leader.

We are pleased to report that we more than 70 individuals were nominated -- reflecting the fact that becoming a sustainable community is indeed a community effort.
