Please join the San Francisco Bay Bridge Branch for a Continuing Education Session which focuses on renewable energy and LEED and explores the three approaches for securing points under EAc2 - On-site Renewable Energy, EAc4 - Green Power, and EAc6 - On-Site and Off-Site Renewable Energy. The goal of the session is for attendees to walk away with a solid understanding of EAc2, EAc4 and EAc6 in terms of the approaches, logistics and process for successfully securing points. The session will provide beneficial information for architects, engineers, contractors, property managers and consultants, and requires no prerequisite knowledge.

Learning Objectives

  • Differentiate clearly between the three options for securing points under EAc6, Green Power and EAc4, On-Site and Off-Site Renewable Energy
  • Understand the key assessment criteria for determining if an on-site solar system is appropriate for a given project
  • Define “Renewable Energy Certificate” and “Carbon Offset” and the differences between them, both in terms of fundamentals, and in the context of EAc6 and EAc4
  • Describe the benefits of both on-site and off-site renewable energy
  • Analyze the consideration factors for on-site vs. off-site renewable energy
  • Identify the process for completing the requirements of each approach to EAc6 and EAc4
