In 2011, Humewood House was selected by SVP Toronto for a renewable annual commitment of $15,000 per year for up to three years, in addition to partners’ consulting time and skills.
Humewood House (www.humewoodhouse.com) is a young parent resource centre, founded in 1912. They provide a safe and caring environment for young pregnant and parenting women and their children through residential services, life skills training, childcare, education and counseling.
Join Louise Moody, Executive Director, to explore the assumptions and realities around teen pregnancy, and learn more about the work Humewood House does to empower Toronto's most vulnerable single parents to make positive life choices for themselves and their children. Take a tour of the facilities and share a meal with other guests in a house that, over 100 years, so many have called home.
