Developing Your Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Toolkit: Get Creative with Hopelessness and Confusion

The series:  This workshop is part of a series of two-hour workshops sponsored by Portland Psychotherapy that are intended to provide practical tools that therapists can immediately use in their practices. Each workshop covers a single topic or exercise and the presenter will follow a similar outline consisting of four parts: 1) a brief didactic introduction to that night’s topic, 2) a demonstration of the technique, 3) time for participants to practice the technique in small groups, and 4) a closing discussion in the larger group. The workshops will be active, focused, and above all -- practical.

This workshop: Creative Hopelessness is one of the most feared and misunderstood interventions in ACT. Many ACT therapists skip it altogether. In this workshop, you'll learn how, when and why to use Creative Hopelessness with clients. You'll practice ways that to make it memorable, and even fun!
