Developing Your Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Toolkit: Using Physical Props in ACT

The series:  This workshop is part of a series of two-hour workshops sponsored by Portland Psychotherapy that are intended to provide practical tools that therapists can immediately use in their practices. Each workshop covers a single topic or exercise and the presenter will follow a similar outline consisting of four parts: 1) a brief didactic introduction to that night’s topic, 2) a demonstration of the technique, 3) time for participants to practice the technique in small groups, and 4) a closing discussion in the larger group. The workshops will be active, focused, and above all -- practical.

This workshop: Want to shake things up, get your clients moving, and reach a new level of ACT engagement with your clients? Love office supplies? Then this is the course for you! The use of props can be an effective and fun way to create experiences that move your clients forward. Add the power of the sticky note and the commanding influence of the index card to your personal ACT arsenal.
