DynoChem Training: Safe reaction temperatures and the Optimization Module in DynoChem: Scale-up on screen
Weekly Event - Every Wednesday: 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM (EDT)
More than 250 people joined us for the series of DynoChem training modules for chemists that were aimed at beginners, starting from scratch with only a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
All modules were led by Dr Wilfried Hoffmann, Principal Consultant - Process Chemistry. No hands-on access to DynoChem is required to attend or benefit from the modules.
Event audio will be available via your computer speakers and headset. If attending using your own computer, check your setup here.
Summary of Completed Modules:
Module 1: [completed 22 Feb 2012: View Recording] Starting from a blank Excel workbook to a simple batch reaction model and introduction of the Simulator
Module 2: [completed 29 Feb 2012: View Recording] Addition of a side reaction, the introduction of a yield calculation, more advanced functions of the Simulator
Module 3: [7 Mar 2012: View Recording] Entering experimental data and the fitting of isothermal and non-isothermal rate constants
Module 4: [14 March 2012: View Recording] More details about entering chemical reactions and rate laws into DynoChem
Module 5: [28 March 2012: View Recording] Addition of a feed, introduction of physical properties (different temperatures and specific heats of feed and reactor)
Module 6: [4 April 2012: View Recording] Addition of reaction heats, fitting of calorimetric data, addition of a dangerous decomposition to the model from ARC experiments
Module 7: [11 April 2012: View Recording] Addition of a jacket and enhancement of the model by a temperature controller
Module 8 [25 April 2012: View Recording]: The heat transfer utility, estimation of heat transfers and scale-up
Module 9 [2 May 2012: View Recording]: Process Safety Scenarios, the loss of cooling capacity and the Time to Maximum Rate calculation
Module 10 [9 May 2012: View Recording]: Safe reaction temperatures and the Optimisation Module in DynoChem, Scale-up on screen.
