We are happy to announce that Sages and the Library will be hosting gaming one saturday a month.
At these events we will be focusing on designer board and card games. With designer board & card games the game designer gets front billing on the box just like the author of a book!
People will be available to teach games and there will be copies of some of the best designer games on hand for you to learn and play.
If there is a specific game you would like to know about, or try please let me know and I will do my best to bring it along.
You are also welcome to bring a favorite game and try and get a game going.
Gaming will start promptly at 1pm and games will go until 3:30pm.

The Portsmouth Public Library and Sages of RPG offer Saturday afternoon gaming beginning January 28 from 1-3:30 in the Hilton Garden Room.
The Portsmouth Public Library and the Seacoast gaming organization, Sages of RPG, are teaming up to offer something new this winter –‘Let’s Play Board Games’. The public is invited to join us for intentional gaming with board, card, and dice games, from 1-3:30 on Saturdays, January 28 and February 18. Many games will be available at the library but feel free to bring along your favorite to share.
The mission of Sages of RPG (role playing games) is to promote face to face interaction, education, and family togetherness through intentional gaming with board, card, and role playing games.
Wayne Moulton Jr., founder of Sages of RPG, will be facilitating the gaming afternoons. He has been gaming since he was a child and continues to share his passion for gaming by running successful community gaming events. In his professional life he works with people of all ages and abilities to spread his love of the gaming hobby. He says, “Board games are a wonderful way to meet new people and have a great time. Through our partnership with the library we will be able to share the gaming hobby with people who may have never heard of it.”
Saturday afternoon games will complement the long-standing gathering of Mah Jongg players who meet every Saturday morning from 10-Noon in the Hilton Garden Room.
‘Let’s Play Board Games’ is free and open to the public. The library is located at 175 Parrott Avenue, next to the Portsmouth Middle School.
