On the evening of January 30th, Jason F. McLennan, an internationally recognized leader in the sustainable building industry and CEO of the International Living Future Institute (Institute) will deliver a public lecture that is free and open to the public. The lecture is sponsored by the City Council of Bend. McLennan will speak on the topic of community transformation and the future of architecture and design and address opportunities for Bend to embrace restorative development principles. The lecture will be at the Tower Theater, 835 Northwest Wall Street, Bend. Doors open at 6 PM and the lecture begins at 6:30.
McLennan’s visit to Bend kicks off a unique collaboration between the City and the Institute, a non profit organization that developed and administers the world’s most progressive and stringent building standard called the Living Building Challenge. Living Buildings are quickly emerging around the world and demonstrate the highest level of environmental performance currently possible.
