Event Details

For the fourth season, the Palace is reconnecting with our roots as a movie theatre, thanks to the volunteer efforts of Virginia Gomer. Regular film dates are scheduled once a month on a Friday night. Admission is free, though a $10 donation is greatly appreciated. The doors open at 7:00 and the selected film begins at 8:00. Guests are asked to bring food and conversation to share, and the theatre cash bar is available.

February's Film is Cold. Experience Gasherbrum II in the middle of a deep, dark winter, as seen from the raw, honest perspective of alpinist and photographer Cory Richards. The film deftly captures the interweaving of pain, doubt, and fear – and reveals a harrowing descent that amplifies the isolation and exposure. 19 minutes, 2011. Directed + Edited by Anson Fogel.
