2012 - NEW CHANGES & SAME NEW CREATIVE WAYS, THAT IS WHAT MAKES “RALLY AT THE STRIP – II” DIFFERENT, UNIQUE & SPECIAL!

“THE LAST BIG BLOWOUT OF THE YEAR IN THE SOUTH!”

RATS - II had its spring rally in May & what a success.  New venue, new campground, new Extreme Throttle Saloon was just the start of RATS – II with a new location just behind the old venue. “New changes spells excitement,” stated Glen whom has seen his dream become reality & much more.  Back for the fall rally in great demand is the Guns of Freedom an amazing arsenal of fully automatic rifles not to mention the 50 calibers which makes one pay attention when they are discharged.  These firearms are amazing & anyone can shoot them in a controlled shooting environment for a small economical fee.   Also, back by popular demand is the Sevier County Choppers helicopter rides.  The helicopter rides should be amazing come the first weekend in November, the fall foliage & the fantastic view of the Great Smoky Mountains spells fun in the air.  “Considering the last four years the first weekend in November the temperature has been in the high 70’s these helicopter rides will be beautiful & exciting,” stated Glen.  Glen states the first weekend in November will be the last big blowout of the year as far as rallies in the south goes, he moved the date down one week so much more vendors & biker groups can attend. 

The Extreme Throttle Saloon a 5900 sq. ft drive thru biker pub with a catwalk & moonshine still is always as extra added feature for RATS – II.  The moonshine still is a great photo opportunity & as always there will be an event photographer on site.  Glen states he will have most of the biker games inside the ETS for the fall rally, he & his staff are coming up with new & creative biker games so this should be interesting.  Glen did state there will be the first ever hot wing eating contest at RATS – II so spectators start practicing now for the hottest wings ever only at RATS – II.  New for the fall is Karaoke/DJ inside the ETS, this is by popular demand so Glen is building a stage inside the ETS just for karaoke & also as a backup just in case Mother Nature does not cooperate.  Also, the TV production crew from Nashville will be filming yet once again so who knows maybe you will end up on the RATS – II DVD or even better TV.  Spectators there is no excuse, sunny or wet the ETS has you covered with the stage inside the pub & much more.  New for the summer & fall season the ETS will be open the first weekend in August, September & October so drop by or come & stay the weekend at the Extreme Throttle Saloon.      

Also during the spring event was the dirt drag racing.  ‘This went over better than I anticipated so this will be a permanent fixture at RATS – II,” stated Glen.   Glen states he will make some modifications to the dirt drag track to make it safer & more competitive for the fall event.  Glen states other modifications include having the new campground completely grassed & new water hookups for the campers will be completed by the fall event.  The vendor area will also be transformed thus leveling out the vendor area making a horseshoe style area to accommodate all the vendors for this event.  “Visual perception is a must for the vendor area, due to rain 2 days prior to the spring rally I had to place some vendors further away from the stage so this is why I am transforming the vendor area,” stated Glen.    This will place the vendors closer to the stage & the Extreme Throttle Saloon a goal Glen had from the start. “The zipline will be completed, the deck was built off of the ETS however the design did not pass the safety inspection so the zipline did not happen in the spring but it will be there for the fall event, “stated Glen.  Lastly, Glen hopes to have the entire middle portion of the ETS concreted so watch out the burnouts will begin inside the ETS. 

The band line up will be completed soon & Glen is bringing back the Battle of the Bands or BOB.  Glen had BOB during his spring & fall events in 2009 & decided it was time to re-establish BOB.  BOB will be judged by both of the headliner bands & will be shot by the TV production crew.  The winner of BOB will open for the headliner of the spring 2013 RATS – II rally.  Bands, if you think you have what it takes to be an opening act for one of the best damn bike rallies in the south, RATS - II says bring it on.   Geneva and her band as well as Hired Guns and their band will judge the BOB, this will be done American Idol Style. 

Campers go to the website (www.rallyatthestrip.com) to order your site soon because 2012 RATS - II will be the bigger & better for the fall event.  Tent camping, primitive camping (no electric or water), parking & hot showers are always FREE with paid admission, no hidden cost, like Glen says his motto is, “IT GETS NO BETTER THAN THIS – SAFE, FUN & ECONOMICAL!”

Bands starting at 5pm daily, “Battle of the Bands” TV production crew filming daily, dirt drags, zipline, burnouts inside the ETS, biker games, machine guns, helicopter rides, vendors galore, catwalk for all the ladies dancing needs, moonshine still inside the ETS, free hot showers, full campground with electric & water, free tent & primitive camping, free parking, Buff Entertainment dancers, not to mention the Extreme Throttle Saloon all spells excitement & one hell of a event for the fall RATS – II rally 2012. 

Event passes are still $35 for the entire 3 ½ days of fun filled excitement & day passes are still $20 per day.  These rates are still the most economical around for what RATS – II has to offer!
