When constant change is the only constant - how should your business tackle the future?

The pace of technological change is accelerating. Today’s organizations are living in a world where “constant change is the only constant.” New advances in technology are bringing forth exciting and unexpected discoveries every day, while the expansive and growing power of the Internet, social networking and the open-source movement are fueling the fires which threaten to consume much of today’s existing business landscape.

Join SACC New York for a seminar on "Unlearning the Future". The seminar features:

  • Jack Uldrich, futurist
  • Fredrik Carlström, C&Co
  • Anders Sjöstedt, Hyper Island
  • Carsten Stendevad, Citigroup Global Markets

The seminar will be moderated by Jonathan B. Whitney of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP.

Jack Uldrich is a renowned global futurist, independent scholar, sought-after business speaker, and best-selling author. Mr. Uldrich’s other written works have appeared in The Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek, and hundreds of other newspapers and publications around the country. He is also a frequent guest of the media worldwide—having appeared on CNN, MSNBC, and National Public Radio on numerous occasions. Uldrich claims that life-long learning will be more essential than ever in this chaotic and churning environment; but often lost in this new emerging reality of exponential change is the fact that before an organization can seize tomorrow’s opportunities it must first unlearn old, obsolete knowledge as well as unlearn the old ways of doing business.

Fredrik Carlström is Founder & CEO of Carlström & Company (C&CO), a venture capital and brand management consulting firm headquartered in New York. A marketing veteran of over 17 years, Carlström was most recently, until 2011, the CEO & Executive Creative Director of digital agency Great Works’ US operations, which he set up in 2007. In 2010 AdWeek named Great Works an Agency of the Year.

Anders Sjöstedt is Global Director, Executive Programs at Hyper Island. Started in 1995, Hyper Island is a leading Swedish education company for the creative industries and executive education. Today the company has offices in Sweden, the United Kingdom and in the U.S. Before joining Hyper Island, Sjöstedt built Scandinavia's largest business incubator Minc and was the CEO of Swedish Creative Industries.

Carsten Stendevad is Global Head of Citi’s Financial Strategy Group (FSG). FSG is the corporate finance advisory and analytical team within Citi’s Investment Bank. Stendevad joined Citi in 2002, after working for McKinsey & Co. in both New York and Copenhagen and the Central Bank of Denmark. Trained as an economist from the University of Copenhagen (Cand. Polit), Carsten also holds an MPP from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He began his career at the Central Bank of Denmark.
Jonathan B. Whitney is the managing partner of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman's New York office. Prior to assuming that role, Mr. Whitney was the firm-wide leader of Pillsbury's Finance practice section. Mr. Whitney's primary focus is representing U.S. and international commercial banks and finance companies in secured and unsecured financings as well as U.S. and international holding and operating companies as borrowers. Mr. Whitney's transactional experience spans a wide variety of industries, from the new technologies and telecommunications sector to classic industries such as manufacturing, product distribution, utilities, transportation and financial services.
