Internationally recognized industry expert and thought leader in the world of cloud computing, and the author and co-author of 15 books on computing, including the bestselling Enterprise Application Integration, and his latest book Cloud Computing and SOA Convergence. Dave keynotes at many leading technology conferences on cloud computing, SOA, Web 2.0, and enterprise architecture, and has appeared on a number of TV and radio shows as a computing expert. He is a blogger for InfoWorld, Intelligent Enterprise, and eBizq.net, and Forbes covering cloud computing topics, as well as the guest host for This Week in Cloud Computing, as well as his own podcast The Cloud Computing Podcast.

Dave’s industry experience includes tenure as CTO and CEO of several successful software companies, and upper-level management positions in Fortune 100 companies. Focus on SCVMM features and an introduction on how to implement into your current environment.

BIO:  Jim Ratsch has been working in the Federal space since 1998 and within Microsoft Federal for the last six years. Within his role, he has focused on the Windows Platform and Active Directory on both reactive and proactive technical support. He has recently been focusing on Hyper-V/SCVMM and lab building, and has worked with Microsoft virtualization products since they were introduced with Microsoft’s acquisition of Connectix.

Introduction to Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2012, Howard Carter & Reggie Gibson
During this session we will dive into the latest release of the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2012.  We’ll discuss new features and walk through the process of constructing your own image development lab.

BIO: Howard Carter is a Desktop Deployment Consultant focused on large scale Windows 7 image engineering and deployments.  He’s currently working with several federal customers to modernize their desktop management and deployment strategies.

BIO: Reggie Gibson is a Microsoft Consultant currently focused on technologies from the Microsoft System Center Suite and Datacenter Services solutions.  He has implemented several Configuration Manager 2007 infrastructures and recently supported a customer with a desktop deployment using Configuration Manager integrated with MDT.  With 10+ years of DoD and Federal experience, he is presently supporting multiple customers across the Public Sector space.

Housekeeping steps needed to cleanup your old environment in preparation of an SCCM 2012 migration.

BIO: Wayne Miller is a senior consultant with 12 years’ experience with SCCM/SMS.   Clients have included several federal government agencies.  While working for a defense contractor he worked in metropolitan area with approximately 6,000 clients.  The environment grew to a 15,000 client SMS 2003 implementation due to multiple successes.  Wayne also led a federated team that developed processes and procedures that lead to the eventual creation of a 70,000 client SCCM environment.

As a follow on to the “Introduction to MDT 2012” session, you’ll get the chance to sit down with your very own MDT server and walk through the process of building an image construction environment.  You’ll import an operating system, drivers, applications, and build a task sequence.
** Attendee is to provide their own laptop.  Hardware requirements: Windows 7 or Windows 2008 with Hardware virtualization , 4GB RAM, 50 GB free disk space on host. Further details will be provided.

Configuration Manager  and Forefront  EndPoint Protection, Kevin Kasalonis
This session will show CM Administrators how to setup and configure FEP in a CM07 environment.  We will create and modify policies, assign polices to collections, deploying the Forefront Clients, monitor deployment, and see how to configure alerts.   We will review the methods included in FEP 2010 Update 1 to automate the deployment of definitions.

We will be discussing what is new in System Center Operations Manager 2012.  To include Resource Pooling, Config service Scale and Federation.  We will be going over System Center Operations Manager 2012 Network Monitoring features such as a walk through on the discovery process of network devices, monitoring, dashboards and reporting.  SNMP supported protocols within System Center Operations Manager 2012.

BIO: Phil has been working at Microsoft for 6 years and has been supporting System Center Operations Manager since the introduction of the product.  He has been a System Center Operations Manager Technical Lead for the Product.  Phil helped develop the System Center Operations Manager training courses for System Center Operations Manager and is a Master Trainer for System Center Operations Manager.  He is currently helping customers successfully implement the product and create custom management packs..

But there's one thing that she loves even more than solving IT problems:  sharing what she has learned with other people.  Rhonda has a passion for learning products at the packet level and sharing that knowledge in her classes with clients large and small.
