FREDERICK DOUGLASS NOW

"I am a fugitive slave. I live under the Hollywood Freeway and the Brooklyn Bridge… somewhere
under the rainbow … kept warm by blazing barrels of trash scraps from the cane fields and the
fast food establishments. . .” begins Roger Guenveur Smith’s FREDERICK DOUGLASS NOW, a
solo performance inspired by the life and work of abolitionist and pioneering feminist
Frederick Douglass (1818-1895).
