BLS Instructor Course The American Heart Association CPR Instructor course is a two day course.  Day one will be completed at home using the AHA CORE DVD provided to you.  This program covers information on teaching and will take most of the day to complete.  Once complete you will print out a certificate of completion.  This certificate must be brought to class with you.  Participants must provide a copy of their current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR card the day of the instructor course.  The CPR card must indicate you were taught to the 2010 guidelines.  Day two will be held at Saint Michael’s Medical Center.  Day two will cover information such as course organization, policies and procedures of both the AHA and Saint Michael’s Medical Center CPR Training Department, administration of courses, equipment cleaning, changes in CPR and why the occur, skills testing a written test and more.  To complete the instructor course students must be evaluated teaching their first course at Saint Michael’s Medical Center.
