Mark Conner, a consultant and investment professional of twenty-six years, will explain how corporate treasurers can gain the necessary skills for more effective and safer investment of their companies - cash. Recent settlements among broker/dealers and various authorities concerning auction rate securities reveal that many consider corporations to be "institutional" investors. Though this is a mistaken characterization, corporate cash investors nevertheless do need to rise to this standard if they are to be successful in effectively and safely investing corporate cash.
The Association for Financial Professionals of Arizona (AFPA) is a group of Treasury Professionals whose mission is to provide continuing Treasury Education and a local peer network. We accomplish this through our nine monthly meetings and an annual conference. During monthly meetings, guest speakers discuss timely, relevant treasury and other related issues.
