Classic Album Sundays presents John Coltrane "Blue Train"

CAS is proud to present our first jazz session and this album is essential listening for any seasoned or rookie jazz fan. "Blue Train" was entirely conceived and by saxophonist John Coltrane and this was the only recording for which was the leader of the band on the legendary Blue Note label. His hard bop style melded bebop with R&B and blues.
Join us at 5 pm to listen to some of John Coltrane's musical inspirations and some of his jazz contemporaries such as Miles Davis and Thelonius Monk. Please get their as early as you can. The Hanbury are also offering CAS attendees two-for-one pizzas from their brick oven so you can hang out upstairs and eat and hang out.
At 7 pm the lights go down, the volume goes up and we play the album from beginning to end on vinyl on our audiophile hi-fi. The audio menu includes a Rega Apheta MC phono cartridge, Rega P9 turntable, Mark Levinson ML1 preamp and Bowers and Wilkins Diamond Series 802 speakers.
Tickets are £5 on the door and £5 + service charge online. We recommend you purchase tickets in advance.

Classic Album Sundays allows the listener to truly immerse themselves in one of their favourite albums or an album they have never heard before. Music fans hear the story behind the album as well as musical influences and contemporaries before hearing the entire album unintertupted on vinyl on our audiophile hi-fi.
