Tuesday, February 17, 2009 from 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM (MT)
New Date: Tuesday, February 17. Sorry for the confusion. If you already registered, you do not need to do anything. We have kept your spot for you.
Event Description: Children ages 3-5 (with an adult) are invited to join puppet maker Pat Zenzic as she demonstrates how to make and how to play with puppets.
Child development experts agree that puppets are a healthy, creative way for young children to reenact, imitate, and generally try to make sense of the complicated world around them. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to make and play with puppets, so all participants at the workshop will be successful.
At the library, children will also be treated to a short puppet show, and will have a few minutes to practice with their own puppets using the library's puppet theater.
Zenzic will show how to create artistic puppets out of regular household items and recycled items. Based on her prototypes, parents and kids will only be limited by their imaginations upon returning home.
