Never before have states been under greater pressure to make government more efficient and effective. In today’s environment, government has to stretch every tax dollar to provide needed services. This conference will bring together a broad mix of Massachusetts government leaders, including Governor Deval Patrick and his Cabinet, as well as municipal and federal officials, legislators, academics, representatives of public policy foundations and institutes to review how the Commonwealth is using Performance Management to accomplish its goals.

Participants will hear from experts in the field and learn how to use a series of common-sense practices to improve government performance and enhance public trust. Attendees will learn how to establish measureable goals and objectives; how to drive goals and strategies through all levels of their agencies; how to measure outcomes against goals; and how to use data in real time to identify and fix problems.
