Today, Africa and African people everywhere are at the center of the struggle against oppression. While the U.S. and other imperialist governments attack Libya today, it is part of a longstanding assault on Africa. This assault began with slavery and colonialism that are the foundation of white wealth today and the reason why Africans now find ourselves in the U.S., the Caribbean, South America and elsewhere.

Today’s attacks are an attempt to save an imperialism that is dying as peoples around the world rise up against white power — whether in its old white face or the newer black and brown faces of Obama, Mubarak and others.

African people in the U.S. experience first hand the war on Africans, through police violence in Detroit where they kill little African girls to the city of Miami where 8 African men have died at the hands of the police in nine months in 2010. This is war just like the war the U.S. is carrying out against our people in Libya. Join the struggle against this war at African Liberation Day! The event will have workshops, performances and great speakers including Omali Yeshitela, Chairman of the African People’s Socialist Party.
