Description
Surely one of Sydney’s most picturesque suburbs, perched on a rocky peninsula surrounded by the sparkling waters of Middle Cove, Castlecrag was recognised as a special place by Canberra’s designer Walter Burley Griffin and his partner Marion Mahoney, way back in the 1920s. They made a plan for Castlecrag to develop as the perfect garden suburb, with small houses surrounded by trees and rocky outcrops.
This walk primarily is in the Burley Griffin Estate and includes seeing some Griffin & Nichol houses and Lucas Houses. You will wind your way down some of the Griffin Pathways.
Tour leader Ben Gerstel is a local architect.
