Urban Beer Hunt will hit the streets of Long Beach January 28th, 2012.

Teams venture out on a journey, deciphering clues, solving puzzles and seeking out the many task locations and checkpoints that await them.

Each task and/or location requires a team photo.

Once all the tasks are completed, it's a race to the finish line with $1,000 in Cash and Beer up for grabs.

Promising to be a crazy, wacked out adventure. This event is expected to sell out quickly.

Grab some friends and put together some crazy costume. Get signed up before it's sold out!

Overview:

Start: This event begins via text message. No specific meet up location required.  Teams will need to visit the event page and click on the boundary map link to suggest a good starting location and be ready to start receiving your first set of texts at noon. Link provided below.

Sign In: No specific startup location. Review boundary map for starting point.

Distance: About 5 miles (run or walk... just have fun!)

Duration: Figure about 2 hours, some a bit faster, some a bit slower.

After Party/Awards: 3:15 PM -  Food and drink specials will be available for purchase. The location will be texted out during the hunt.

What to bring:

Team must pre-register one cell phone to be able to participate. Please register your cell phone at least 3 days before the hunt, to allow us time to troubleshoot any problems.

Bring $5 PER PLAYER: needed to complete specific task(s).

Bring one Digital Camera per team for team photos: Pics required at each stop.

Internet: Bring an internet connected device to google answers. A cell phone with internet works great. You can also use phone-a-friends at home that are standing by to google the answers for you.

GPS or City street map: Can use your internet connected device for this.

Team dressed in costume: not required, but why not? Prize for best costume.

Basic Rules:

Teams will receive text messages during the hunt to their pre-registered cell phone.

All teammates must be in all photos at each stop.

Travel only on foot or public bus. No bikes, cars, skates, or other means allowed.

To win: Teams must complete all the tasks correctly and cross the finish line.

Typically the first team does not win, they get one of the tasks or photos wrong. Double check the details in the tasks.

Nobody likes a cheater. If you see a team cheating, such as using a vehicle or bike, please snap a pic and provide it to the event manager BEFORE the event awards. The team will be disqualified.
