Event Details

People used to depend on the Yellow Pages for all sorts of things. Yellow Page directories used to be full of listings, with large display ads for popular categories such as furniture or pest control and small type-only listings for categories that were forbidden to advertise in a showy way, such as lawyers and doctors.

When the internet became popular, more people turned to online searches to find things. Up until recently, the internet didn’t provide good search results for local businesses. Now there is Google Places.

Google Places provides search information with details entered by businesses and additional features, such as photos, video and coupons. Also, Google Places makes the search easy, relevant and useful, practically eliminating the need for the Yellow Pages at no cost to local businesses.

Google Places is the biggest opportunity for locally based businesses to get online, get found, and get more new and repeat business. It’s (relatively) easy to set up, keep up-to-date, and manage, and the service is very likely to get used in a way that brings in customers.

In this webinar, Ed Andriessen, CEO of Business Training Resource, a small business internet marketing consultancy, answers important questions about where to start and what to do with Google Places.

Ed will cover:

  • Why must a brick and mortar business with a physical address have a Google Places listing?
  • What are the six areas of focus to optimize a Google Places listing?
  • What businesses cannot have a Google Places listing and what should you do about it?
  • How do you claim a Google Places listing?
  • How do you get positive reviews?
  • What are some of the other ways I can take advantage of my Google Places listing?

If you’re a small business owner looking to get in front of more potential buyers, take a moment to register and attend this valuable session.
