Workshop Description:

This workshop will focus on understanding the 4 generations in the workforce: Who they are, what they want, and how to leverage their talents. Each of the four generations (Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y) in the workplace brings its own unique perspectives and work ethics to the job. See how a multigenerational workforce is good for business, and how to harness the skills and strengths of each generation. Identify generational differences that lead to conflict and workplace problems, and create ways to resolve them. Topics include differences in work orientation, values, preferred work environment, preferred leadership style, communication style, concept of reward, and ways to engage and develop.

Learning Goals:

• Identify generational differences and how they affect the workplace.

• Describe ways to maximize each generation’s resources.

• Define generational expectations and preferences for workplace culture.

• Recognize and avoid typical areas of cultural conflict across generations.

• Apply practical techniques for best communicating across generations.

Executive directors, human resource officers, program managers, and supervisors.
