Somewhere between a bar and the recording studio, Miles Nielsen’s stirs up his own pop rock brand of Beatles-eque Cosmic Americana. Pop rock arrangements and sunny melodies tucked between a long lost country folk steel guitar floating through speakers around crashing drums, bouncing bass lines and smooth as butter keys. Born in Rockford, IL, home of Cheap Trick and ‘Symbol’, power pop DNA runs through the veins of his songs and performances. 13 years spent playing bars, clubs and theaters, Miles has played and performed as vocalist / lead guitarist in many midwestern bands from past to present, Harmony Riley, HMS, and most recently, as a member in the Appleton, WI via Rockford ensemble, Cory Chisel & The Wandering Sons– as well as his own band when time permits as “Miles Nielsen & The Rusted Hearts.”  From writing and performing his own tunes to recording and performing on other artists songs, Miles Nielsen continues to help carry out that very rare rock n’ roll torch that only few can claim out loud, “that sound?… it came from the midwest.”

Hayward Williams (http://www.haywardwilliams.com) grew up with a guitar in his hands, performing from an early age in cafés, bars, and eventually rock clubs throughout his home state of Wisconsin and around the Midwest. A high school 'Battle of the Bands' champion, the textbook lonely college kid making dinner dates with his guitar, Williams took the well-worn suburban route to musical accomplishment: he hit the ground running with a '64 Gibson that his mother bought at a garage sale, listened hard to everything from the Beatles to Buckley, and somewhere along the way began to write the tunes that would become his own voice.

Music at Sleepy Creek is always a treat.  The show takes place in our tasting room, so weather is never a problem.  Patrons are welcome to bring their own snacks; cheese and crackers, summer sausage and other treats are available for purchase.  Wine can be purchased by the bottle or glass.  Beer, soft drinks, coffee, tea and water are also available.

GROUP SPECIAL  Purchase 6 or more seats and receive a reduced rate of $10 per person, plus reserved seating. For this special, all seats must be paid for in advance with a single transaction. Call 217-733-0330 or stop by the tasting room for this rate.

Seating is first come/first serve (except group special above) and begins one hour before the performance.  Shows are general admission, with capacity at 75 people. Sleepy Creek is a small, intimate venue, so please be courtious by turning off cell phones and keeping conversation low during performance. Don't worry, there is plenty of time between tunes to refill your glass and catchup with your neighbors.
