Foundations Training consists of four days of equipping designed to prepare you for the physical, emotional and spiritual demands of foster care or adopting a "waiting child" from the foster care system. We touch on a variety of important topics, including welcoming a new foster child, managing discipline and nurturing your biological family. Through prayer, conversation and tabletop discussions, we help families examine their hearts in order to determine if they are called to foster. After Foundations Training, families may complete their foster application and questionnaire and proceed to the home study process. Foundations Training meets Georgia’s requirements for becoming certified as a foster parent AND adopting from the foster care system. Attendance at our p686 foster & waiting child orientation session or another FaithBridge orientation session is a pre-requisite for Foundations Training.
This training will be conducted by our partners, FaithBridge Foster Care (www.faithbridgefostercare.org).
Childcare will not be available, but promise686 will provide vouchers for babysitting. Please contact us at info@promise686.org to request a voucher.
