Event Details

In 2002, Edible Ojai, a publication celebrating local food culture, was launched.  With the vision of co-founders Tracey Ryder and Carole Topalian, the idea to showcase the bounty of Ojai has now evolved into a portfolio of over 60 titles, from Vancouver to Chicago to Santa Barbara, and the brand, Edible Communities.

Tracey Ryder and Carole Topalian will discuss their experience building the Edible Communities brand and how their idea to highlight farmers, fishers, chefs, vintners, and food artisans alike has become so successful that they add magazines at a rate of approximately 10 per year.

Their success can be attributed to maintaining a consistent brand across all publications.  With the elegant photographs and eloquent but accessible copy, they maintain a standard of excellence across all publications.  Additionally, each publication works with journalists who are local food advocates, who write with a community voice, reside where they publish and savor the culinary products produced there.

Join us for an exciting glimpse into a local success story that exemplifies the art of building and expanding a brand.
