The presentation will discuss approaches for taking a litmus test of your organisation’s data governance maturity and the value to be gained from your maturity assessment. The presentation will focus on:
· * Using a framework for maturity assessments
· * Building a gap analysis off an assessment
· * Using an assessment report for executive buy-in
Stuart Brown, Consultant, Zenith Solutions
As a Consultant for Zenith Solutions, Stuart has focused on developing data governance solutions for both private and government environments. Through assessing an organisations maturity, building a framework, defining priorities, and outlining a roadmap forward he has helped companies and government departments both develop their data management practice through better governance.
Prior to joining Zenith Solutions at the start of 2011, Stuart was the Data Quality Officer for ACT Health and focused on improving data quality through better governance and communication. The work completed with ACT Health led the organisation to attain IAIDQ’s 2011 Asia Pacific Award.

DAMA (Data Management Association) is a not-for-profit, vendor independent association of technical and business professionals dedicated to advancing the concepts and practices for data resource management and enterprise information. The primary purpose of DAMA is to promote the understanding, development, and practice of managing data to support business strategies. DAMA has chapters and members throughout the world.
DAMA has been in operation for over 20 years in Australia and there are active DAMA chapters in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Canberra. DAMA Sydney offers a regular speaker programme as well as regular meetings, seminars and workshops. It provides a forum for information management practitioners to network and exchange information and experiences.
