What Does It Take To Successfully Plan an Event?

Friday, January 13

3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

Rocky 001, Rockefeller Center

What do the Bloomberg Republican Presidential Debate, Dartmouth Wind Symphony and ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition all have in common?  They all require the same steps of advance work and diligent management to culminate in a successful presentation.  Want to look good when your new boss asks you to plan an event or put on a press conference?  Don’t have any idea how to even get started?  This session will give you the tools to see you through from idea proposal to the final event.  From determining what you want to offer, then identifying needs, developing goals and objectives, organizing your plans, determining logistics and finally putting it all into action. How do communication, organization and attitude affect the overall success?  We will assess examples of events from your and the presenter’s experience for markers of success and opportunities for improvement and then plan an event of our own.
