PLEASE NOTE: This is a VERY SPECIAL PERFORMANCE.
Friday April 3rd the role of Jennifer Derbyshire will be played by KARA MARIE KLEIN.
10 years ago Ms. Klein originated the role of Jennifer alongside Ms. Enoch's Geneva and her engagement brings the original Chicago cast back together for one final, unrehearsed performance.
Please be aware that this is an understudy performance and Kara may have her book in hand for all or a portion of the show. Her ability to fill in for the wonderful Nancy Friedrich is a stroke of luck for all those excited about seeing these three original Strange Trees together again. It's sure to be an evening full of delightful surprises and excessive merry making. Come prepared to enjoy yourself with light hearts and thank you for your support and understanding!
Though unforeseen, this portends to be a very happy accident!
This is a ONE NIGHT ONLY special engagement.
The Dastardly Ficus, by Emily Schwartz, is a dark and strangely amusing piece comprised of four stories involving the Derbyshire sisters, who are timeless, devious, and not altogether of sound mind. Inside the confines of their antiquated home, the two spinsters display a simmering malice towards one another, seemingly determined to slowly drive each other mad. But in fact, their story is one of love and companionship, as the two recluses keep each other amused with highly imaginative games. It is a heartfelt menagerie of severed heads, lemon pound cake, and cat funerals.
