Event Details

CDMP Training

This two day course provides a strong understanding of the concepts examined in the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) exams. The format is to review the key concepts and then assess knowledge through sample exams. The answers for each of the sample exam questions will be explained and discussed.

The first day reviews material required for the two mandatory exams – Information Systems Core and Data Management.

The Information Systems Core addresses:

  • Information Systems: Organisational Role, Business Drivers, Strategy, Structure, Acquisition & Management
  • Data and Information Management
  • Enterprise Architecture
  • IT Infrastructure
  • IS Project Management
  • Systems Analysis & Design

The Data Management addresses:

  • Data Management Process
  • The 10 Data Management Functions (e.g. Data Governance, Data architecture Management, etc)

The second day reviews the two most popular elective speciality exams Data Development and Data Warehousing.

Speaker Biography

Glen BellGlen Bell is a partner in Robinson Ryan and is head of their data management practice. He has taught data modelling courses for almost two decades. He has worked on data related projects in North America, Europe, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand and throughout Australia.

Glen has a Master of Business in Information Technology (University of Technology, Sydney) and Bachelor of Science - Maths and Computing  (University of Queensland). He is the President of the Sydney chapter of the Data Management Association and is a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) at mastery level.

Fees vary depending on whether you are a DAMA/ACS member or not.

Schedule and Catering

Registration is from 8:00am with tea and coffee available on arrival. The course runs from 9:00am to 5:00pm. There will be breaks for morning and afternoon tea as well as lunch. All meal costs are included in the course fee.

DAMA Membership included

Non DAMA members will receive 12 month membership in DAMA for no charge. This membership usually costs $100.

DAMA

DAMA (Data Management Association) is a not-for-profit, vendor independent association of technical and business professionals dedicated to advancing the concepts and practices for data resource management and enterprise information. The primary purpose of DAMA is to promote the understanding, development, and practice of managing data to support business strategies.  DAMA has chapters and members throughout the world.

DAMA has been in operation for over 20 years in Australia and there are active DAMA chapters in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. DAMA offers a regular speaker programme as well as professional development workshops. It provides a forum for information management practitioners to network and exchange experiences.
