VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Committee Kick Off Meeting – Thursday, 2/23
6-7:30pm at Career Wardrobe

Event Overview:  The Career Wardrobe’s annual fundraising event raises over $80,000 for the organization’s program services, and attracts over 350 professional women.  This year’s event will be on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Hyatt at the Bellevue in Philadelphia.  

6:00-8:00pm: Cocktail Reception + Silent Auction 

• Featuring inaugural exhibition of Portraits of Progress, a photography exhibit telling the personal and professional journeys of women helped by The Career Wardrobe in the past 16 years

8:00-9:00pm:   Program (Grand Ballroom)

• Career Wardrobe Logo Unveiling
• Fashion Show featuring local media celebrities and former clients
• Fashioning Futures Award Presentation
• Purse with Purpose Live Auction (celebrity signed custom handbags)

Volunteer Expectations:  

• All volunteers are expected to participate in all committee calls and/or meetings
• Agree to work on assigned tasks 
• Agree to attend and volunteer the night of the event.  
• Volunteer tickets for the event are available at a reduced price ($50) for those who have actively served on the committee prior to the event only.
• Please note that there are NO FREE TICKETS for this event.

Auction Committee:  Responsible for all aspects of the silent/live auction and raffle 
Committee Lead:  Caitlin Day (cday@careerwardrobe.org) and Paige Wolf (Volunteer)

• Individually soliciting local business for donations to the auction/raffle
• Packaging auction items
• Selling raffle tickets leading up to and during the event 
• Overseeing auction during the event – including auction check out 

Corporate Sponsorship Committee:  Secure corporate support The Career Wardrobe and A Perfect Fit
Committee Lead:  Kim Pacini (kpacini@careerwardrobe.org) 

• Receive solicitation advice, training and materials from Career Wardrobe staff
• Personally call on 3-4 corporations from our pre-defined prospect list 
• Approach new sponsors with whom they have a personal relationship (as applicable) 

Program Committee: Section FULL
Committee Lead:  Veronica McKee (vmckee@haverfordquality.com) 

• Coordinate fashion show:  hair/make volunteers and appointments for client to select outfits, communicating with local celebrities regarding their involvement
• Soliciting donated desserts for tables during program
• Integration of Story of a Suit: Portraits of Progress 16th Anniversary photography exhibit
• Coordinate Fashioning Futures for Women Award Nomination Process
