Michael Travisano was born and raised at the Jersey Shore. In 1987 he purchased an existing business that he and his wife Andrea still operate today. In 1988 he became a member of the Professional Photographers of New Jersey and the Professional Photographers of America. His creative approach to photography has led him to win numerous awards at PPANJ, as well as numerous general and loan collection images with PPA. In January 2007 he received his degree of Master of Photography through the Professional Photographers of America, as well as becoming a member of A.S.P. Michael received his Photographic Craftsman degree from PPA in 2008.
Michael has chaired and co-chaired the PPANJ print competition more than 15 times since 1988. He is currently the 2012 Image Competition PNE Chairman, and aims to set a new benchmark of excellence with this upcoming competition.
The topic of Michael's seminar is "Taking your Comp Image to the Next Level: Turning Reds to Blues ". He will explore how to prepare an image for competition, what the judges are looking for and how to add the final touch that will result in a print score of 80 or higher. There will be a brief Q&A session about this year's upcoming digital image competition at PhotoNorthEast.
