HISTORY & HERITAGE and STUDENT’S FELLOWSHIP NIGHT

DINNER MEETING

Presented by: The History & Heritage Committee, Student Activities Committee, the Orange County Younger Member Forum and the Board of Directors

The evening will include a Job Fair for students, introductions of Past Presidents, Installation of the Orange County Branch Officers, and the Order of the Engineer ceremony. Our collection of Orange County Historic Civil Engineering Landmark materials will also be on display. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening. Please join us in supporting our student groups and the future of our Society.

Program

We are honored to have as our special guest speaker, the 2011 - 2012 National Society ASCE President-Elect, Mr. Greg DiLoreto, P.E., F. ASCE. Mr. DiLoreto is the Chief Executive Officer of the Tualatin (To-wal-a-tin) Valley Water District located in metropolitan Portland Oregon. He has worked in the public works field for 34 years, 17 years as a public works director/city engineer. Mr. DiLoreto holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University and a Masters degree in Public Administration from Portland State University. He is registered as a civil and environmental engineer and a professional land surveyor in Oregon. Mr. DiLoreto is a fellow in the American Society of Civil Engineers. He served on the ASCE Board of Direction 2004-06. Mr. DiLoreto has served on many ASCE committees and currently serves as chair of the ASCE Committee on Geographic Units. He has received the 1986 ASCE Edmund Freidman Young Engineer Award, the 1995 ASCE Oregon Section Outstanding Civil Engineer award and the 2005 ASCE Government Engineer of the year award. In 2003 he was inducted into the Oregon State University Academy of Distinguished Engineers. In October 2012 he will be installed as ASCE’s President.

Student Chapter Presentations

Leaders of the ASCE Student Groups at California State University, Fullerton, California State University, Long Beach, and University of California, Irvine will recap their Chapter’s activities of the past year and look ahead to the coming year with brief, entertaining multimedia presentations.

TIME: 5:30 p.m. – Social, 6:30 p.m. – Dinner, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. – Program

MENU: Club Steak or Fresh Atlantic Salmon or Vegetarian Portobello Mushroom (note meal choice at time of reservation). No host bar will be available.
