The HOYOP Program:
The Home of Your Own Program is a partnership between St. Vincent de Paul, Adair Homes, USDA and NEDCO. Qualifying families have an opportunity to participate in the building of their home (similar to a "sweat equity" program) in the community of Lowell, Oregon. Financing is available through USDA, and the required homeownership education classes and counseling are provided by NEDCO.
Who Should Attend?
Anyone interested in participating in the program, either this year or in the next two years, should plan to begin attending the classes now. If you have not yet attended an information session, call us to find out if you qualify!

Classes begin January 23rd, continue weekly through March 19th. The dates are firm, but the topics are subject to change/revision:

Classes are held from 6:00 - 8:00, and attendance is mandatory at all classes to receive a certificate of completion. The certificate will be required to receive a USDA loan and the down payment assistance.
Cost:
The $50 materials fee covers the entire household for all classes and counseling sessions, as well as a three-bureau credit report.
Individual Counseling:
In addition to the classes, a HUD Certified Homeownership counselor will meet with you the provide counseling specific to your situation. They will work with you to improve your credit, create a budget, start a savings plan and get you on the right track for homeownership! Counseling sessions should start right away, but can be scheduled for times convenient to you.

NEDCO is the state designated Regional Housing Center for Lane and Marion Counties and is a HUD Approved Counseling Agency.
