Event Details

Pen and Ink Techniques for Botanical Illustration is an 8 week intensive course of study on the foundations of rendering the plant kingdom with accuracy and beauty. This foundation course follows the beginning Pencil Techniques class by reinforcing, reviewing, and practicing the basic skills of line drawing, shaping and modeling, layering for depth, light and shadow, marking, and foreshortening. Continued emphasis will be on observation strategies, the analysis of tonal values, plant taxonomy, and drawing from life,  This is a beginning foundation course and can be taken without the Pencil Techniques class. It is a prerequisite to the study of Beginning Watercolor Techniques which follows Pen and Ink in April 2012.

Mondays - January 9, 23, 30, February 6, 13, 20, 27, March 5

Class meets in Miraloma Park Clubhouse at 350 O'Shaughnessy Blvd, San Francisco, CA 
with private parking lot.

$10 materials fee per student to be paid to instructor on the first day of class
