Sunday Dec. 4th, 2pm:

 

Join an educational expert for an honest, detailed guide to U.S. college admissions.  In this seminar, we will dive into the process of selecting and getting into the best college for each student. 

 

Topics include:

- What U.S. colleges want: academics, test scores, extracurriculars, and more.

- How important is the SAT really?  Insights on how colleges use your SAT score.

- Understanding the Ivy League: who gets in, and how you can be among them.

- Advice for juniors, sophomores, and freshmen: get a head start now.

 

This is an intimate event for the Potomac Chinese School community, with seating capacity limited to 40 people.  Students and families will have the opportunity to ask direct questions.

This seminar will be led by Julia Zhou of Alumnus Group.  

Alumnus Group helps ambitious Chinese students launch a successful life.  Our mentoring, tutoring, and college admissions services provide students with the insights and guidance they need to achieve their dreams. 

Julia Zhou is Principal and Co-Founder of Alumnus Group.  She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Economics and Political Science.  Previously Julia was Senior Marketing Consultant with Publicis Groupe in New York, where she consulted for Fortune 100 companies in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Hong Kong.  Earlier, she worked as Research Associate at Columbia Business School, conducting economic research on housing markets, healthcare, and education policy.  In addition to her full-time work, Julia brings over eight years of experience as a freelance tutor and coach.  She has worked with students at institutions such as Wharton, Columbia, New York University, MIT Sloan, and the University of California at Berkeley.  In her free time, Julia serves on the Associate Board of APEX NY, a non-profit organization dedicated to mentoring and inspiring Asian-American youth in New York City.
