2011 Healthy Holidays Festival is partnering with

to host an afternoon of FREE workshops for you and your friends.

Why:
For several years, Community Health Plan has been hosting this community-oriented festival during the holiday season to celebrate eating well, living active lifestyles, and maintaining an overall excellent bill of health. This year, they've decided to team up with KOLLABORATION SEATTLE to host two workshops aimed at empowering Seattle youth to engage in healthy activities.

WORKSHOP 1 - Hip-Hop Dance Workshop:
Hosted by Michael "Mikeskee" Huang & Jessica Hu

Mikeskee is a B-Boy and street dance enthusiast who is also founder and director of , , and Northwest. Jessica is a hip-hop dance instructor with the Hip-Hop Student Association at the University of Washington. 
 


WORKSHOP 2 - Songwriting / Singing Workshop:
Hosted by Li Jie and Travis Graham of New Heights

Lijie has one album to her credit titled “Roam.” Several tracks from “Roam” have received recognition at the 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2009 UK Songwriting Contests, and have been used in various independent films. She will be releasing her second album, “the Music Maker” (which her fans helped fund), this summer. She has performed throughout the world (Seattle, San Francisco, New York, Austin, London, China, Taipei…) at various venues, clubs, coffee shops, street corners, churches, and living rooms.

Travis Graham is the frontman for local rock band, New Heights. The band  has released three studio EP’s to their credit, including their first full-length album, “Something to Believe In” set for release in Sept. of 2011, and will be embarking on a 7-city tour this fall with Clara C. Their first music video for their single “Peaches“  has over 200,000 views and currently has two more videos set for debut, including collaborative works with South Korean pop star Brian Joo and Clara C.



BOTH WORKSHOPS ARE FREE and enrollment is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please select ONLY ONE workshop to attend. Lunch is also provided for FREE. We'd love to have you join us in taking advantage of these wonderful opportunities.
 

 

 

After the workshop, enjoy Community Health Plan's holiday festival with free food, health screenings, activites, and games all provided for FREE. There will be special guest appearances by the Sounders FC and a special holiday acoustic performance by Kollaboration Seattle winner's Lion's Ambition.
