All Guadalupe Academy classes being the week of January 17, 2012. All Visual Arts classes will be held at the Guadalupe Gallery,

Discover Arte: Ages 8 - 12
Tuesdays 6 - 8 p.m.
Location: Gallery Classroom
Instructor: Ernesto Olivo
This class introduces students to the basic principles of art and design via a wide range of visual arts mediums. Your child will learn about drawing, painting, printmaking, and much much more.
Junkitecture: Ages 12 and Up
Thursdays 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: Studio 3
Instructor: Mary Cantu of Spare Parts Studio
Teens will change, activate, manipulate and primp recyclable & reusable materials to create inventive art. Learn more about upcycling, hipcycling, elements of junkitecture and eco design! TRASH IS THE FAILURE OF IMAGINATION!
Drawing for Beginners: Ages Teens and Adults

This class introduces students to the formal elements, methods and contemporary processes of drawing in various media such as graphite, charcoal, ink, and pastel.
Painting for Beginners: Ages Teens and Adults

This class introduces a variety of printmaking methods including, monotypes, collography, linocuts/relief printing and silkscreen printing.
Digital Art: Ages Teens and Adults

Introduction to computer graphics as a technical and creative medium for art and design with an emphasis on the Adobe operating environment.
Barrio Couture – Accessory and Jewelry Making: Ages Teens and Adults
Wednesdays 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: Classroom
Instructor: Agosto Cuellar
Owner and operator of Jive Refried and local design legend, Agosto Cuellar, brings his fashion sense and style to the Westside. This class introduces you to the basics of jewelry making, as well as the creation of one-of-a-kind original accessories and small projects.
Conversations on Chicano/Latino Art and Cultural Expressions: Ages 18 and up
Wednesdays 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: Studio 4
Instructor: Pedro Rodriguez
A review of the reasons for recognition of the cultural and artistic expressions of Chicanos/as and their respective cultural institutions.
Visual Arts Registration Fee: $25 GCAC Membership | Tuition: $150 per semester

Who can attend classes?
Classes are open to the public. Unless otherwise noted, most classes are geared towards students who are new to the subject matter, at the beginner level.
How do I pay my monthly tuition for Dance or Music classes?
Payments can be made:
(1) by calling the main office at 210.271.3151,
(2) by mail at 1300 Guadalupe Street, San Antonio, TX 78207, or
(3) online.
Are there any discounts?
GCAC Members at the Familia level ($55) receive a 15% discount on the cost of classes.
What is the cancellation/refund policy?
The GCAC reserves the right to cancel, combine or reschedule classes, or to change class instructors when necessary. If we must cancel a class, we will notify you as soon as possible and you will receive a full refund. If you must cancel registration, we require a minimum of seven days notice prior to the class start date for a full refund. Notice of withdrawal by a student must be made in writing and received no later than seven days prior to the first day of class. We charge a $20 administrative fee for any cancellations requested less than seven days prior to the start of the class. No refunds will be made for withdrawals made after the start date of a class. Failure to attend classes or verbal notification will not be regarded as an official notice of withdrawal. The registration fee of $25 for your membership is nonrefundable.
What are the main office hours?
The main office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on all major holidays.
Will I get to perform at the end of the session?
Classes will culminate in a presentation of work via an exhibition or a performance.
PAYMENT FOR ALL CLASSES: Full payment is due upon enrollment. The GCAC accepts checks, cash, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover). Payments can be made at 210.271.3151, through the mail (1300 Guadalupe Street, SA TX, 78207) or online via our web site: www.guadalupeculturalarts.org.
Students can register at the Guadalupe offices located at 1300 Guadalupe Street or online at www.guadalupeculturalarts.org. All participants must have a current GCAC membership at the $25 level.
