The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center is pleased to announce its fallclasses beginning in September 2011 for children, teens and adults.
DANCE CLASSES
Location: Guadalupe Gallery, Dance Studio, 723 S. Brazos St.
Mexican FolklóricoDance Classes
Beginning students develop coordination, balance and weight shifting while learning body awareness. Intermediate and advanced students build strength, stamina, balance, posture, grace and discipline. All students are introduced to different regions, costuming and music in traditional Mexican Folklorico dance; while more advanced students learn more intricate technique and choreography.
Folkloritos : Ages 4 – 6

Flamenco Dance Classes
Students learn basics of flamenco dance including rhythms, footwork, and armwork. Intermediate level classes progress to more challenging technique and choreography.
Flamenco I: Ages 8 – 12
Thursdays 5 – 6 p.m.

Flamenco II: 13 and Up

ZUMBA: Teens and Adults
Get into to shape and have some fun with our newest class. Zumba will be sure to get your heart pumping and your hips moving. No experience required. Just bring your workout clothes, a towel and get ready to sweat!
Saturdays 1 – 2 p.m.
Instructor: Dava Hernandez
SALSA: Teens and Adults
Want to rule the dance floor? Learn how to move your feet and body to the Salsa beat. Master instructors will teach you the basics of partnering, turns and tempo. Bring your own partner or try it on your own - no experience required. You will be dancing the night away in no time! Just bring comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes.

MOMMY AND ME: Parents with Children Ages 2 – 4
Mommies and kiddos will stretch together and learn basic dance steps from Mexico and Spain. Children will listen to various traditional songs of Mexico and Spain, stomp and clap to the beat of the music and also learn basic Spanish vocabulary. Children learn language, movement and music from this very special class all while bonding with mommy.

Dance Registration Fee: $25 GCAC Membership
Tuition: $40 per month for two-hour classes ; $25 per month for one-hour classes

Who can attend classes?
Classes are open to the public. Unless otherwise noted, most classes are geared towards students who are new to the subject matter, at the beginner level.
How do I pay my monthly tuition for Dance or Music classes?
Payments can be made:
(1) by calling the main office at 210.271.3151,
(2) by mail at 1300 Guadalupe Street, San Antonio, TX 78207, or
(3) online.
Are there any discounts?
GCAC Members at the Familia level ($55) receive a 15% discount on the cost of classes.
What is the cancellation/refund policy?
The GCAC reserves the right to cancel, combine or reschedule classes, or to change class instructors when necessary. If we must cancel a class, we will notify you as soon as possible and you will receive a full refund. If you must cancel registration, we require a minimum of seven days notice prior to the class start date for a full refund. Notice of withdrawal by a student must be made in writing and received no later than seven days prior to the first day of class. We charge a $20 administrative fee for any cancellations requested less than seven days prior to the start of the class. No refunds will be made for withdrawals made after the start date of a class. Failure to attend classes or verbal notification will not be regarded as an official notice of withdrawal. The registration fee of $25 for your membership is nonrefundable.
What are the main office hours?
The main office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on all major holidays.
Will I get to perform at the end of the session?
Classes will culminate in a presentation of work via an exhibition or a performance.
PAYMENT FOR ALL CLASSES: Full payment is due upon enrollment. The GCAC accepts checks, cash, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover). Payments can be made at 210.271.3151, through the mail (1300 Guadalupe Street, SA TX, 78207) or online via our web site: www.guadalupeculturalarts.org.
