Wet Hike on the White Loop - Cypress Dome Trails
Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (EST)
Come take a wet hike on the White Loop at the CREW Cypress Dome Trails and experience a magical, beautiful place. This 3+ mile hike takes you deep into the woods on a narrow trail where barred owls perch and old, curvy palm trees reach for the sun. With no boardwalks, this trail lets you get your feet wet as you slog through the popash slough and then up into some of the most gorgeous pine flatwoods at CREW.
It's a once a year experience and not to be missed.
Bring water to drink, camera/binoculars if you like, and be prepared to get wet (and muddy) up to your knees.
Meet at the Cypress Dome Trailhead by 9:00 AM. We'll wrap up by noon. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch to eat afterwards.
This hike is free, but we always appreciate donations to help further our mission to protect the Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed.

When & Where
CREW Land & Water Trust
The CREW Land & Water Trust was established in 1989 as a nonprofit organization to coordinate the land acquisition, land management, and public use of the 60,000-acre Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed. We work closely with our partners, the South Florida Water Management District and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to ensure the protection of the watershed. This watershed, the largest intact watershed in south Florida, straddles Lee and Collier Counties and provides aquifer recharge, natural flood protection, water purification, preservation of wildlife habitat, and public recreation. CREW's majestic 5,000-acre marsh is the headwaters for the entire watershed.
