Midsummer Skinny Dip 2012
Sunday, 24 June 2012 from 08:00 to 11:00 (BST)
We will be attempting to raise as much money as possible for the amazing charity that is Marie Curie whilst hopefully breaking the record that we set last year.
Please arrive at Oxwich bay between 8.30 and 9.30, and remember to bring your tickets with you. Unlike last year, we will be unable to sign people up on the day. We will dip at 10am and the event will finish by 11am.
We would like to remind people that we have special permission for the event and that Oxwich bay is not a naturist beach. Therefore we are all expected to be fully clothed from 11am.
As mentioned, this is a fundraising event and we are hoping to beat the awesome £25,000 that we raised for Marie Curies last year. We are therefore asking people to try to raise at least £50 each in sponsorship (although there is certainly no need to limit yourselves!) You can get people to donate through the Skinny ip page on just giving: http://www.justgiving.com/skinnydip2012 or you can set up your own page and join the skinny dip dip: https://www.justgiving.com/teams/skinnydip2012 . Alternatively you can raise the money in cash and bring it on the day!
A couple bits to be aware of:
1. This is an adult event, with lots of adults getting naked. If you have under 18s that you would like to bring, please contact me on email@example.com
2. Although there will be lifeguards, we would like to remind people that we will be going into the sea and that it can get rough so we are recommending that people only take part if they are confident that they can swim at least 50 metres.
3. We have no idea what the great British weather will be like, so please bring warm clothes. We suggest that you bring a change bag with a towel and warm clothes to help dry and warm up after the dip.
4. Like last year, there will be some cameras taking photos and videos. We will attempt to keep this at one end of the beach so that people who would rather not be identified can be the other end. However, we cannot guarantee that you won't be in these photos or films.
